A wonderful combination that is capable of wonderful results.
Have mentioned previously that this has filled the shoes once filled by the Leica Q. It took a while to find the right lens for me admittedly. But it looks like I am not alone in this assessment. Found an excellent video where a photographer makes the case for the A7C and FE 40mm f/2.5 G.
And he admits that he has yet to try the Leica Q2 he compares it to. Neither have I but I have owned a Leica Q and I do prefer the Sony combination. I am not saying that it is better, and I would not personally call it a Leica killer. Each has their merits, but I understand why he phrases things so. But the A7C/40mm are a better fit for me personally. He did cost me the price of the square hood, however. As mentioned in that previous post one thing I did miss about the Q was that snazzy square hood and metal cap…
…instead of the functionally proficient and practical but less compelling plastic snoot hood and cap that comes with the 40mm.
Well, it looks like Haoge has me covered. Anyhoo, enough about aesthetic matters. Here are some pics taken since my last post with this pairing.
