As stated in my earlier post while I fully acknowledge that the big news with the Sony ZV-1 was the great video features it has. But I was also impressed that they teamed these features with the original lens I prefer and the great AF and stills performance. Combine this with the very small size and weight and they just about created the perfect RX100 sans EVF at a lower price point than the most recent RX100.

That was my original assessment. Well I can update that this has proven to be an accurate assessment. Every time I carry this camera along with me I do not regret it. I have no delusions that this could replace other gear, but I definitely do not feel like I am in a penalty box when I have it with me. Its small size and non-descript appearance helps capture shots I might not be able to or even think of otherwise. Below are some sample shots from just running errands with this tucked in a cargo pant pocket. It is the perfect camera for those times where it is completely inconvenient to have a camera and a phone would not do.

Out and about.
