Work Intern Final Presentation Session: When You Are The Photographer & One Of The Mentors.
For the last few years, I have served as a mentor for interns at my day job.
Because of my extracurricular activities, I am also asked to capture intern headshots…
…and images of the intern kickoff and final presentation meetings.
Take photos on the clock? Yes please.
In the past I have been asked… commanded to get into group shots. In the past I used a less than optimal solution. Interval shooting. I prefer that over timed exposure because I am not required to go to the camera each time. But on this day, as outlined in a recent post,…
…I had a better solution.
The gear.
Camera.
A beast. A strong contender for the one camera I would own if I could only have one camera. So good that I was not moved by the release of its successor, the Sony A7RVI.
Lens 1.
For the candid pics, I used the precious.
Lens 2.
The same lens I used when I needed to go a little wider at the recent chorus group pic.
I am glad Sony is still raising the bar, but the A7RV is already more than I need.
No lights this time around. There was a wall of windows on one side of the room so I was good.
So…
- Mentor to two of the interns.
- Photographer.
On to the pics.
Candid with the precious.
Used the Sony tripod/remote and Viltrox Air 20mm f/2.8 for the group pics.
Snuck in one pic with the demi precious…
… as well.
Thoughts.
A great time overall.
Would prefer to be the photographer rather than the photographer and subject. But the remote helped a great deal.
What a great group of young people. Great things ahead for them.
