<Cut and paste from earlier GXR post.>

In my first post on the GXR system, I pondered whether that post keeps the spirit of not overthinking my overthinking or was this overthinking my overthinking?

A brief fit of overthinking is how I ended up with the GXR system.

RICOH GXR A12 50mm f/2.5 Macro

This post here is about the faux GR 28mm module.

RICOH GXR + GR

Brought it out for its intended purpose yesterday. A small carry along when photography is not the main priority…

Since that post I have gifted my GR to my son. Many captures are repeats of pics taken before as I headed out to help my daughter. I decided to take this GXR out to remind myself that InstaThreadFace and new point-and-shoot darling cameras are nice and all, but there are plenty other options that can create a pleasing result.

For me the GXR is a better fit than the GR:

  • Interchangeable lens/sensor modules provides flexibility without a great size penalty.
  • Optional EVF is especially appreciated over the OVF only GR.

What a fun little camera.

Happy capturing.
