I have used my Leica Q experience in the past as the target for my daily shooter aspirations for some time.
As discussed in this Youtube video and mentioned in previous posts the Sony A7C and FE 40mm f/2.5 make a strong case for themselves.
In that video I was made aware of the first bit of Haoge kit.
$50. Immediately made a difference for the better. Mostly aesthetic admittedly, but improves the handling experience as well.
But there was something else still missing. While I really like the grip on the A7C the camera as a whole is… tiny. I hesitate to mention this because it is exactly what I was asking for. And I got it. Smaller than almost all of the interchangeable lens cameras I have owned, including APS-C crop bodies and even MFT cameras like the digital Olympus PEN F. But even with that great grip, teamed with my beef mitts, my thumb and pinky are left with nowhere to go. Thought of buying a bottom plate… But adding significant size to a camera I specifically bought because of its small size seems silly. What to do?
What about a thumbs up? Worked wonders for the, as much as makes no sense that it is larger than the A7C, Fujifilm X100S I owned briefly.
Well, after a quick search on Amazon Haoge had me covered once again.
$25. We all know what a thumb grip is. What I will say that it makes a big difference here. Sure, my pinky is still on its own. But my thumb now has a home. Time will tell but I think I am also cured of my thoughts of buying a base plate. Will report back in this space if I do. But for now, I am good.
I need to add this to my less than $100 accessory kit list. Well done Haoge.
