I cannot be sure whether it is the actual pairing…
…or my internal reservations based on past experience but I was not entirely sold on the two used together. I had not written it off yet because I was not entirely sure if it had to do more with equipment or past experience bias driven user error.
Well, courtesy a quick test with a digital M mount camera…
…I have confirmed that is the former.
Cool. Why cool?
Because with that same camera, I was able to calibrate the lens.

Verified with digital all that was left was to test it with film. And I am happy to report that it was a success. My last post about this camera/lens combination became a great meditation on experience being more important than results. This time with a proper calibration there were images to go along with the experience.
Film of choice was once again Fujifilm Superia X-Tra 400…
…which was developed at home with Cinestill CS41.
Here are almost all of the test images taken. Unlike the last time around nearly every shot was in focus. The only images left out are a few taken with other lenses and safety duplicate shots.
A fine bit of analog therapy.
Happy capturing.
