The occasion? Shopping with my Mom and daughter. Two fantastic folks. I am not a fan of shopping. But make no mistake. I like buying stuff. Decide what I want. Walk into a store. Kill it with cash or a card. Bring it home. Find it online? Even better. Shopping means something different. Involves more walking about, picking stuff up, putting stuff down, entering multiple stores, and perhaps… <gasp> …trying things on. I am a minimalist. Been wearing the same size everything for quite a while now. But things do eventually wear out. I can tell because my wife throws it out forcing me back into the fold. I appreciate it. My shortcut is to find shirts and pants pleasing to my eye that come in various colors, confirm that one fits, secure every variation that size in stock… kill it with cash or a card, and bring it home. But I was tasked as driver and occasional opinion giver this go around. Others would be the decider-ers. My advice was consistent. What is the least expensive choice that is acceptable to you? Buy that one.
Another great help was bringing a camera along.
Recently made an odd acquisition. This third roll through this camera is a, “Hold on a moment.”, moment.
Wrote an opening post and a full-on Ths Old Camera post as well. Spent a decent amount of time responding to complaints I had read about the camera. I still agree this camera has its foibles. But none that impact my ability to create a pleasing image. And that is the point of this whole enterprise, isn’t it? Autofocus performance was the main ding, but I am not having any real issues.
This third roll of film confirms that the first two were not a fluke. This go around I would be going with an old favorite.
