After getting off work yesterday I needed a bit of photography therapy. Looked nice out so Duke Gardens it was. A quick photo walk through a garden with a recent acquisition. Grabbing some samples here as a test bed is the norm. Recently wrote a rather long winded Sigma dp2 Quattro post where I stated my case for keeping this rather odd camera. Short version is the shortcomings reminds me of shooting film as does the resulting images. A perfect camera for such an endeavor.
One demerit that I have since updated is the ding on battery life. After acquiring two fresh aftermarket batteries I found out the battery that came with the camera (likely original 2014 vintage) was to blame. While still not stellar battery life is far better now. When a downpour came out of nowhere on the way I forged ahead remembering my made up NC motto. “NC. If you do not like the weather, just wait 30 minutes.” And sure enough not a drop of rain by the time I arrived at Duke Gardens.
I must like this camera, because it was hot and I took way more pictures than I realized I had once I got home. Here are the resulting images below.
