Scenes Seen/A Significant Firmware Update/Father & Son Gallivanting: Fujifilm x Half.
As I have written about before…
…I did not “get” this camera at first. But after a friend let me borrow his for a review…
…it grew on me.
Had thought the whole fake half-frame film schtick with a fake winder would get old. But nope. The x Half is still as fun as it was when I first gave it a spin.
After carrying about a substantial brick of a camera, I wanted something less serious that could fit in my jacket pocket.
And there it is.
Camera sorted, the occasion.
Read about a significant firmware update.
- “SOFT GLOW” is added to the “IMAGE QUALITY SETTING” filter functions. The “SOFT GLOW” filter softens tone in the highlights of the subject to enhance the beautiful glow.
- “FILM CAMERA MODE” offers 12- and 24-frame options.Adding these options expand the range of options while preserving the look and feel of the film-camera.
- Following improvements and optimizations to the camera’s responsiveness are made to enhance the usability furthermore.・Startup time when turning on the power is reduced.
・AF time is reduced, particularly in scenes where the focus point changes from the previous shot and in low-light (dark) scenes.
・The interval between shots is reduced. - Other minor bugs are fixed.
Nice.
Startup and AF speed improvements appreciated. The slow startup was a ding Cesar shared with me and I am glad they. Any AF improvements appreciated also.
As far as SOFT GLOW I went out gallivanting with son to a local used car lot to try it out. Given the small sensor nighttime did it no favors, but I like the pics just the same.
All pics taken with SOFT GLOW turned on.
The pics.
Thoughts.
A fun little camera had been made even better.
Happy capturing.
