9/11 Memorial – Gibsonville Fire Station 28: Digital GF Edit.
Cesar was looking out once again.

Sidebar: Don’t fret when those you expect to be there… are not. Sometimes your tribe will be those you just meet. Be authentic, and they will find you.
Cesar invited me along on a photo assignment that featured a recent local 9/11 memorial installation.
An easy yes.
This event resonated with me on two personal levels.
- We are touring a volunteer Fire Department and my Father was a volunteer fireman in the town I grew up in. I spent many hours in our local firehouse during my childhood. He drove the firetruck and they honored him when he passed away a few years ago.

- I was in Manhattan on 9/11.
That was the setting. On to the film gear.
Cameras.
Two GF bodies. Have written about them before.
Lenses.
Two favorites.
The only two native Fujifilm GFX lenses I own. Also likely the only two I will ever own.
The pics.
Starting with the FUJIFILM GF 50mm f/3.5 R LM WR.
Taken on the way. One of the reasons I like this lens. A seeming contradiction. A practical, everyday-use digital medium format lens.
The arrival.
After the visit.
FUJIFILM GF 80mm f/1.7 R WR. The prime precious. This lens seems incapable of capturing a bad image.
Then an awesome Jeep rocked up.
And then I was squirreled by a motorcycle.
Thoughts.
Enough said already.
Happy capturing.
