Scenes Seen/A Lens “Test”: In And Around A Joint Chorus Concert.
Subtitle: I got bored and justified a purchase “test” of a used lens I need like a hole in the head from my local camera shop.
I am not even going to pretend that this is a rational decision. I have been blessed to figure out what gear I need and acquire it.
Great!
Downside? Yes.
Boooooooring.
Solution? I strained to create a Venn diagram overlap of a lens I do not have and something available used at my local camera shop. They have a website link to their current used offerings on Craigslist. A dangerous place for me. But far less dangerous than out in the wild. The prices are usually better here. More on the lens and my “justification” later.
Occasion.
As mentioned in a recent Instagram post, I had a solo yesterday during a three chorus joint concert.
The solo had two parts. I did both parts in our rehearsal as a placeholder, figuring someone else would share the solo with me day of. Then on day of I found out the following:
- There would be no other soloist.
- This would be the closing selection.
Cool. One thing decades of chorus abuse have taught me is “be ye ready”. Things will be thrown on you all of the time. So you learn to roll with it. And I did. All went well. Here are the pics. Before, around, and after the concert yesterday.
