..35mm, full frame format on a Leica rangefinder. Short version I really liked it. Looked good while it was at it.
After a recent turn of events it has found a new perch.
I would be lying if I said that this was by design. Had thought I would need to trade the lenses as well. I did not think they would cover the medium format image circle.
But as I stated in earlier posts…
…Katherine set me straight. She shared that she had adapted a lens I already have to hers, pointed out that they had her adapter for sale used at the store, and then walked me through the manual focus settings.
I immediately pulled two lenses out of the trade pile. The topic of this post was one of them.
Surprise 1.
It does a fair job of covering a digital medium format image circle. At worst there is some vignetting.
On the GFX this yields a 22mm full frame equivalent field of view. Does not sound like a big difference until I look at a photo taken from the exact same spot in full frame.
Surprise 2.
It resolves well enough for a 100MP sensor.

Surprise 3.
Less to do with the lens, and more with the camera but manual focusing is a breeze.
So, I am good. A great fit for the GFX100S.
I have written so much about this lens. All of it was positive and nothing changes here. Just wider. Here are some of my favorite images so far.
