Analog Therapy/Film Test Roll 2: Flic Film Aurora 800.

The camera.

Contax G1
Contax G1.

<Cut and paste from the prior post with the, also made by Kyocera I believe, Konica Hexar RF.> A solid exposure camera. Wanted to give the film the best chance to shine.

The lens.

Contax G1
Contax Biogon 28mm f/2.8.

A cuss word awesome lens. I knew it was a winner since my very first roll of film with it.

Fujifilm X-Tra w/ Contax G1

It’s as flawless of a lens as I have ever used. Again, to give the film the best chance to shine.

The film.

Flic Film Aurora 800.

Recommended to me by my local camera shop. With the high price of 800 speed film I have kept to 100, 200, and 400 film but I gave this film a try. First roll was a success. As usual, developed at home with Cinestill CS41.

The time and place.

Last time I put the high ISO to the test with a night setting.

Flic Film Aurora 800

This time I chose a slower lens near dusk. Chose another favorite haunt of mine. Duke Gardens.

The experience.

I love this camera and lens. A joy to use. Even wrote a KEH post blathering on about it.

I once owned the G1 and G2 but I stayed with the G1 for its superior value proposition and smaller size and weight. As long as you get a green label G1, which allows you to use all of the prime lenses but not the zoom, you are good. I ran through this and another roll at the same time. Good times.

Here are the resulting pics with some thoughts on the film afterward.

Last frame… almost. End of roll. I like it. G1 Inception. Pic of a G1/28mm with a G1/28mm.

Thoughts.

Again… I really like this film. Tniis second roll confirms that it does well in good light as well as low light. I have found a new film to put in rotation with my other favorites. And most importantly…

A fine fit of analog therapy.
