Sony A7C II Part 5: Daily Carry Sample Photo Dump.

This one is pretty much what it says on the tin. Took it with. I saw. I snapped. Various lenses. But mostly with the wonderful Tamron 20-40mm f/2.8. Various settings. No coherent theme.

This one and one more very brief one about auto tracking ought to do it. Then posts about it will fall into normal “scenes seen” and other types of photo session based themes.

Preface: All brands are great yadda, yadda, yadda. This just so happens to be the lens mount I chose.

Want thoughts on the camera itself? That was covered ad nauseam in parts 1-4. Good luck getting through those bad boys.

This post here? Sample images… with a thought or two afterward. I cannot seem to help myself.

Here we go.

Will start off slow with some adapted Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM pics a day or two before and after I took that pairing on my recently documented trip to Duke Gardens.

Briefly tested MF with the TTArtisans 50mm f/1.4 tilt lens, which is just a great and inexpensive lens for non tilt use also.

Thoughts.

I really like this camera. More than I expected to if I am honest. Not that I expected anything would be wrong with this camera. More because I was genuinely happy with the OG A7C before it. But Sony earned the upgrade price.

I have heard some lament that at this price point it is not truly an entry level camera. Understandable. I would agree. But in my opinion Sony holds down the entry level playing field with older bodies still on the market. The OG A7C and A7III are perfectly viable options in my opinion. They are both available new but you can save even more picking up a used C or III. I could even make a very affordable used A7II work for stills if I picked up some extra batteries and an aftermarket grip. Did just fine at a wedding a few years ago.

Welp. That is about it for now. Next up, and most likely last in this series, a brief summary of the sorcery Sony calls auto tracking.

Happy capturing.
