This New Film Camera: Pentax 17 Third Roll. Fujifilm 400.

I will mostly stick to the title with a little elaboration at the end. For more about the camera, my first thoughts post can be found here and the first roll can be found here.

Here we go. Fujifilm 400

…developed at home with Cinestill CS41.

I was less mindful with this roll than the last. So much so I had convinced myself that it was a 24 exposure roll. Why? That is what I had bought from non camera stores in the past. That was wrong which led to a scary moment when I removed it from the daylight tank. The unexposed part of the film was blank and for a brief moment I thought the whole roll was that way. That is when I realized what I had done. Fortunately, the 48 exposures I used were fine. Mainly chose the film for the 400 speed since I knew I would be indoors since I was bringing it along to my birthday dinner yesterday. One of a few reasons I was distracted. No big deal. But I am glad I develop my own film. You worry much less when you spend about $1.25 ($25/20 rolls) to develop and scan film for yourself instead paying $15 a roll. Add in the relatively inexpensive $7 a roll Fujifilm ISO 400 3 pack, and I was unbothered other than a moment of confusion and a very slightly bruised ego. Anyhoo.

As I said above, much less care was taken this time around. Partly because I am more comfortable with the camera. Partly because the camera was not the focus of the day. Spending time with my family was. Good times.

The pics. Chucked a few images that I fat fingered and others that my lack of care mangled. Still was left with a respectful number of images.

Thoughts.

This day was the first time someone else took the wheel. This showed another plus of this camera. Ease of use. I set the camera to P and zone focus to group and handed it off to my wife. Easy. Another option would be setting it to auto. Nice.

I say again, this lens is amazing.

A great camera capable of great results that is also easy to use. Nice.

That is about it.

Happy capturing.
