A lot of words were written. Most all of it is good. I will not go on about the adapter anymore. This post is about next day samples to see if any of the day one buzz has worn off. First the photos and then my answer. All taken with my favorite G lens, the 45mm f/2.

Conclusion

As I said in the first post I knew I would be happy with the adapter based on prior experience. What I did not expect was that I would like the adapter better this go around. Two reasons.

  1. AF
    • It could be my fuzzy memory at work, but the TA-GA3 performs better with the A7C than it did with the A7RII years ago.
  2. Ergonomics/Aesthetics
    • These are two things but so closely related that I will address them together. From the general shape of the faux SLR hump-less camera to the rangefinder-ish placement of the viewfinder in the upper left corner use of this lens does not feel far from its native use with a Contax G film camera.

The result?

In little more than 24 hours I have taken more photos with this setup than I did after owning it for far longer before. Cool.

Will my fascination last?

Not sure.

Would I recommend this adapter now?

Still no.

This use case is very specific to someone similarly afflicted as I. Anyhoo.

Happy capturing.
