Had some good news today so my wife and I went out to dinner. Everything happens for a reason. Our first choice of restaurants closed early without notice. Our second choice should have been our first. The Pit. Food was great as usual and there was an added bonus. The Pit’s manager Frank

…saw my brick of a 645D on the table and asked if I wanted to take a quick tour. That would be a definite yep.

The higlights.

So Frank then walked me around the restaurant including showing me where the railroad tracks used to come just outside the building along with the elevated rails where the meat would be brought into the building for processing before it was converted into a restaurant.

He then took me to the back of the restaurant to show me where the hickory pit-cooked BBQ magic happens. Captured an action shot with someone passing by, and a last one where the smoke had cleared some. WIll show color and black and white.

Here are some additional photos that were taken inside and around the restaurant.
