And I shall call you Franken-blad. Kipon Baveyes 0.7x Hasselblad to Sony part 2.

…and I like it. A lot. Had fun on my first test run.

There is no doubt that it makes great use of Zeiss Hasselblad glass and that 0.7x focal reduction…

…really preserves a good portion of that 3D look I was after. Great sharpness and colors also. With that I recently realized that I had not tried the Kipon Baveyes…

…on the A7c. That changed today.

Had wondered if the even smaller body, relocated rangefinder-ish EVF, and articulating instead of flippy screen would be issues.

The result?

Just as good of an experience and possibly better.

Smaller Body

• A non issue. Given the ample grip for its size the A7c was just as easy to handle as the A7III.

Relocated EVF

• Again. No issue. Had no trouble focusing at all with the A7c.

Articulating Screen

• Swing out screen made no difference. Focusing as a fake waist level finder worked just as well when off to the side. But I found myself folding it away and using the EVF mostly.

So enough of that. On to the sample shots.

…and last but not least went all in and cropped to 1:1 to mimic 6×6 for good measure.

I am well pleased with this set up. Will it replace shooting film with Hasselblad V lenses like my A7c has done for my 7Artisans M lenses?

No.

Medium format film is still something special to me. Even if I invested in the digital Hasselblad 907x that would not replace shooting medium format film. That is not the point. But this does make for a very nice compliment when I would prefer a more streamlined image capturing process.
