Scenes Seen: GFX + ROKKOR 58mm f/1.2.

Subtitle: This set up had definitely boosted my scenes seen image capturing output.

The motivation.

The usual. Photography as a distraction. Much needed nowadays.

The setting.

Took the rig wherever I went.

The rig.

Officially an all time favorite.

Minolta MC Rokkor PG 58mm f/1.2

So much so that, whether the situation fits or not, it is what I would prefer to use. And when used within the realm of realistic expectations, it never disappoints. More on this will be outlined below.

The photos.

Thoughts.

Before I get to the cut and paste from the last post part of the program I would like to make a few points.

  1. None of these are Earth shattering images, and some are repeat images, but I like every one of them.
  2. These were all taken in one day.
  3. Over just a few hours in one day.
  4. Regardless of brand, capture medium, gear vintage, or any other variable I have rarely ever taken that many keeper images over such a short amount of time.
  5. Woot. This is fun.

On to the cut and paste…

I have alluded to the main reason I like this camera and lens combination so much before.

It is a mash up of my favorite image capturing attributes.

  • The ROKKOR 58mm f/1.2 is the best of two favorite lenses in one.
    • Wonky like the more fun than it should be 7Artisns f/1.1.
    • Clean and crisp when you want it to be like the Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2 Nokton.
  • Focal length sweet spot.
    • The 58mm focal length works out to about 45mm .
    • Slightly wider and more flexible than a 50mm lens.
    • But 45mm makes for pleasing people photos.
  • A successful rangefinder knock off.
    • Easily replaced the M 240 I had in my life.
    • Feels good in hand.
  • Not bad at video even with manual focus.

That is enough rambling for now.

Happy capturing.
