Analog Therapy: So I Walk Into My Local Camera Store Looking For Some ISO 800 120 Film…
Subtitle: The Beauty Of Having A Local Camera Shop.
This is a short one.
Already wrote about the camera shop.
Had a roll of Cinestill 800T that had been gifted to me loaded in my camera. So my main objective for visiting the camera shop was to pick up more color ISO 800 film.
Which I did. One roll.
Threw in a roll of good old Lomography 400 for giggles.
Then Chris walked me through some of the new film arrivals.
I am always game for some new film, and I had not heard anything about any of these films.

- REFLX LAB 800T – 35mm
- REFLX LAB 320D – 35mm
- REFLX PRO 100 – 120

Looking forward to trying them all out.
Oh yeah. There was something else…
Right. The camera.
I need it like a hole in the head. So why?
I can make up some reasons and try to rationalize the purchase. Emphasis on try. Because I would be lying. Here are the real reasons in no particular order.
- It is an all black SLR.
- I really like, Darth Vader, your SLR is ready, all black SLRs.
- It has automatic (shutter priority) metering.
- Cheap SLRs w/ metering > Cheap old cameras requiring a light meter or estimating exposure.
- Don’t shout at me. This is opinion only. You do you.
- I like Konicas… A lot.
- Great value. Great metering. Great lenses.
- Chris said the lens was great.
- Nice.
- Chris made me an offer I could not refuse.
I already have a Konica SLR.
I really like that camera, and it came with a great lens.
A great pairing.
So why a second Konica SLR with the same lens mount? Easy.

Again. Personal opinion.
Next up, a test run. Film loaded and an analog therapy session will soon come.
Oh. One more reason.
- Like has been lifing all over the place lately, and this makes for a fine and much needed distraction.

Also found there was an added bonus. Easy to load. Pull the film across, close, wind twice, and you are ready to go.
