Analog Therapy/Film Test: @Lomography MC-A – FPP Jiangshi 400.. #lomomca

I talked this camera up already.

Lomography MC-A

I like this camera. This post marks a pivot from counting off the first rolls of film. The camera is a keeper. Above that, actually. It has immediately become my favorite film camera. And even more than that I prefer it over some digital cameras.

The film.

FPP Jiangshi 400.. A film I am trying out for the first time. Thoughts below. Developed at home with Cinestill df96.

The location.

Out and about.

The motive.

Analog therapy. A distraction. Trying out a new film.

The pics.

Two rolls. Per FPP’s recommendation, I shot the first roll at ISO 200, but it was not to my personal liking. Only a few pics survived.

Two frames I put together. No flash on the left. With flash on the right.

I deleted the rest. They were thin negatives, too dark for my liking. Perhaps I should not have adjusted the film development time and temperature for the ISO change. For the next roll, I used the ISO speed on the box, 400.

Thoughts.

A fine film. A bit grainy. That works for some. Perhaps it plays better with other developers. I will never find out. I am sold on Cinestill df96 and there are too many affordable films that work well with it for me to find out.

Personally, I prefer less grain. Especially at this ISO. FPP’s own Mummy B&W 400 comes to mind.

Personal preference is all. A fine film.

Anyhoo.

Another successful fit of analog therapy.

Happy capturing.
