And with a bit of patience, I managed to save a bit by waiting for a SIGMA SA mount version to be discounted. I accurately predicted that it would be discounted eventually because there were no SA mount cameras for sale. And when it happened, I picked one up with a SIGMA SA to Sony FE adapter, and I have been very happy with it.
But portraits are not why I like this lens so much. I can turn out a portrait with a zoom lens…
…or less expensive prime lenses.
So, if not for portraits, when do I like to use the 105mm Art for?

A bit of surrealism.
While many great lenses accurately portray a scene, this lens is great for putting a different twist on images.
So after I had my fun with the precious at an air-cooled Porsche event…
…I chose to switch to the 105mm as I prepared to leave.
