One Pic Story: Don’t Wait. Take The Pic.

A favorite pic of mine came to mind recently.

Will share the why shortly, but first, some background. There is a spot by me with old cars. A salvage lot. And they would park old cars outside of the front gate. I would stop by after hours. Have taken so many pictures there.

With digital.

Some cars would remain. Others would come and go. I counted this as one of my favorite go to photo locations to burn through film or test new (to me) gear.

Now it is gone. Drove by for the first time in a while and nothing. Cars gone. Fence gone. Buildings leveled. The cars in the salvage yard are mostly gone, and the rest are on their way out.

I took some pictures of it. I deleted them

Bummed if I am honest. Not exactly sure why. It is just some cars, right?

Evidently, I took comfort in grabbing images in this familiar location. It is not the only one. There is this spot,…

But after many years of photos, that is one old car spot that is now gone.

Glad I took the photos while I could. I will remember this in the future. If I come upon a scene, I need to capture it then. It may not be there tomorrow.

Happy capturing.
