Analog Therapy: Yashica MAT LM + Expired Kodak T-Max 100.
As mentioned in an earlier post, I am currently dealing with a bout of poison ivy/oak. Summary:
Yard work ->
Poison Ivy/Oak->
Prednisone (Google side effects)->
Itchy, cranky mess.
Result:
a. Holding on and repeating, “Do not say that out loud.”, to myself. So far, so good, but just in case, pray for my family.
b. Another reason to hate yardwork, and I did not need any more
My Dad loved yardwork, so the great care given to my folks yard since he passed is in deference to this.
Left to me? Mow whatever grows.
What better way to distract myself than by burning through a roll of expired film I picked up at my local camera shop…
…a while back? A public service to my wonderful family.
Brought out an old favorite for some analog therapy.
Even scored a snazzy case for it.
A good looking bona fide bargain capable of great results.
Now onto the film portion of the program. Expired Kodak TMax 100,…
…developed at home with Cinestill df96.
took a swing through a small local park. A great place for portraits, also.
Was not what to expect from the film. Buying expired film is always a gamble. I have to admit something though. Perhaps it has to do with my insistence on developing Kodak TMax 100 myself, but even on a good day it is not a personal favorite.
Not bad mind you. Just not a favorite. Personal preference. But sometimes interesting things can happen with expired film. Sometimes, disastrous. Here is what we got this day.
I credit the camera with this first pic… perhaps with a side of user error. Had an overlap of the first two images.
I like it.
Thoughts.
Film.
A classic expired film experience. Unpredictable, but I like it.
Camera.
Eh. The Yashica MAT LM is a fine camera. But nowadays I prefer a bit more automation.
Light meter.
I used two phone app free versions.

Both were fine. No preference to report.
Most importantly, it was definitely a successful analog therapy run.
Happy capturing.
