Scenes Seen: GF 80mm f/1.7 + Local Camera Shop.
As many posts start… So I walked into the local camera shop.
Rambled about camera nerdery with staff and other customers?
Check.
Tried out gear I have no intention of buying?
Check.
Shared images from a recent camera session?
Check.
So what is left? Let me see. Of course, play with the GF 80mm f/1.7.
And the kind folks at the front of the store played along.
Thoughts.
This kit is not a need. But it is a definite want.
The fact that a used 100MP medium format digital camera with IBIS, phase detect AF, with Eye detect can now be had for no more than a modern full frame camera is a wonderful thing. So I wrote about them for so long that they finally depreciated into my strike zone.
And the lens. Wow. I have raved about the GF 50mm f/3.5…
…but if I could only have one GF lens, it would be the 80mm f/1.7. It provides the exact look I was after all along.
