Scenes Seen: GFX – 80mm f/1.7 + Occoneechee Speedway.
Wanted to get out and about with what is quickly becoming my favorite camera and lens combination…
… and decided to revisit the Historic Occoneechee Speedway Trail near me. Usually, I would bring along a film camera, but I have hit a bit of an analog lull since this pairing showed up. It is temporary, I am sure.
I took it along for the afternoon, stopped by another local walking path, and then I went to the race track.
The Walking Path.
I reached the main subject. The old cars.
Thoughts.
This kit is not a need. But it is a definite want.
The fact that a used 100MP medium format digital camera with IBIS, phase detect AF, with Eye detect can now be had for no more than a modern full frame camera is a wonderful thing. So I wrote about them for so long that they finally depreciated into my strike zone.
And the lens. Wow. I have raved about the GF 50mm f/3.5…
…but if I could only have one GF lens, it would be this one. It provides the exact look I was after all along.
Happy capturing.
