Scenes Seen: RICOH GRIIIx.
As previously stated, I really like this camera.
That is enough of that. I have already spilled more than enough virtual ink about this bad boy so I will push on to the images.
The where was out and about.
I.E. The exact use case intended for this camera.
The images.
Thoughts.
Um… I like it. A lot.
I believe I have finally found the daily carry digital camera I have been looking for.
X100VI sidebar.
I am very impressed by Robert’s X100VI. If I were to own just one camera and lens it would be on the top of my list. It splits the difference between two of my favorites image capturing solutions. On the compact side there is the GRIIIx mentioned above. Admittedly the GR leaves features out for that small size that preclude it from being a one camera solution for me. But on the all arounder side of things at around the same size it made more sense for me to get the Remaster Slim kit for my A7C.
But again, if I did not already have an A7C or if I was looking for a one lens and camera solution the X100VI would be at the top of my shopping list.
Psst… While I owned and genuinely liked an older X100 variant…
…since I am more stills focused I also must admit if I were inclined to get a compact Fujifilm camera with an EVF a used X-E4 and 27mm pancake would be very tempting. Did so with an older X-E2 a few years ago.
Not a spec competitor for the technical wonder that is the X100VI admittedly. Wonder if they will make an X-E5 or if Fujifilm has bailed on other rangefinder-ish cameras and decided to go the EVF-less X-M5 and faux DSLR route for their interchangeable lens cameras?… Anyhoo…
Happy capturing.
