Scenes Seen/Chorus Pays Their Last Respects: Rokinon/Samyang Remaster Slim – 32mm f/2.8 & 21mm f/3.5.
Was looking to get through a roll of film and decided to revisit the Historic Occoneechee Speedway Trail near me. As is my routine I brought along a digital solution. My choice of gear was inspired by a friend sharing that he had picked up a Fujifilm X100 VI. I am very happy for him. Have had an earlier X100 S.
Great fun.
Of course, I am tempted to join in by getting the new X100 model. But courtesy of some fine work by Rokinon/Samyang I am good.
Wrote about the Remaster Slim kit.
I like it. A lot.
I like a good comparison post, but I shy away from this is better than that posts. That being said one thing I do like about the Remaster Slim is the availability of three focal lengths. This here post uses the 32mm f/2.8 and 21mm f/3.5 modules. I usually gravitate towards the 32mm f/2.8 focal length and I had thought this would be my favorite of the three, but I also like the other modules. All make for a small and capable full frame point and shoot solution
I took it along for the whole day, including a trip to the camera store before I went to the race track.
First the 32mm module.
While talking with my friend Guillermo I switched over to the 21mm module…
…then briefly back to the 32mm module.
Then in preparation for the trip to the racetrack I went back to the 21mm module.
And now the race track.
Thoughts.
To be clear, I am not saying this is better than an X100 VI.
What I am saying is that this setup more than meets my needs.
Well done Rokinon/Samyang.
Happy capturing.
