Analog Therapy/Film Test: @filmphotographyproject 120 X-Ray B&W + Hasselblad 501c + Zeiss 80mm f/2.8.
The same old drill. Needed a bit of analog therapy so I wheeled out an old friend for an extra dose.
The secondary goal was to test a roll of Film Photography Project 120 X-Ray 100 B&W I picked up at my local camera shop. I was a bit nervous since I did no research. Kind of excited also. I had no idea what it would look like or how it would play with Cinestill df96. But when I developed the negative it looked like I did not have much to worry about at all.
I started off with a plan to travel a few miles to a local town or hamlet, but was stumped as to which one. I have covered them all recently. That is when I realized that I had not killed a roll of film in my own little hamlet for a while. So I remedied that post haste. A bit hastier than I planned actually. I have been using a 645 camera recently and was spoiled with 16 frames. Around frame 10 I remembered that I needed to be a bit more selective with my last remaining couple of frames. Nothing Earth shattering. One did not make the cut due to user error. Evidently I did not meter properly. Here are the survivors followed by some thoughts about the film.
Thoughts.
I like this film. Not as bitingly sharp as CatLABS X Film 320 B&W, a current favorite, but adds a bit of moodiness with darker tones that I like also. I will be adding it to the 120 B&W rotation.
Most importantly it all served as a nice bit of analog therapy.
Happy capturing.
