Image Capturing As Therapy… This Time Analog: Konica Hexar RF – Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.2 – Kodak Tri-X 400.

Perhaps as payback for a feeling of schadenfreude over the post Brexit troubles in the cradle of “Am I the baddie?” my troubled republic was cursed with the return of the convicted felon. A self own of epic proportions as even some who look like me and many who should know better fell for the siren song of the snake oil salesman supreme. <eesh> Back to the task at hand.

Image capturing therapy was needed.

But I ran into my old conundrum with weather assist.

Old conundrum.

I don’t feel right when I do not shoot. I don’t shoot when I don’t feel right.

Weather assist.

It has been brick outside. I did not move here for this foolishness.

So after some back and forth with a photography friend I picked myself and drug myself out of the house. Two tools were used.

  1. A film camera I have been muscling a roll of film through.
  2. A tiny vintage digital companion to keep me from starting another roll when that roll finished.
    • It is brick outside.

The place.

Since many seem intent on dragging us back into the dark ages I decided to visit the exterior of the International Civil Rights Center & Museum one county over from us. Established in the spot where the first sit in protest took place in Greensboro, NC.

Seemed appropriate.

It did not make me feel “better,” but it did center me. In the grand scheme, this occurred not long ago, and it shows. We are not nearly as removed from those times as many would like to pretend we are, and the rest do not care because they saw nothing wrong with such evil from the start.

The kit.

A familiar one.

The film.

Kodak Tri-X 400. An appropriate choice for my mood in hindsight. Developed with Cinestill df96 as usual.

The images.

I went on a food run with my son. He is a good driver, but I figured I would chauffer us since I am the only driver with upstate NY driving experience in the house.

Welp. That is it for now.

Take care of yourselves and those you hold dear. Turn down the screens as much as you can and be careful where you tread in the virtual landscape to guard your peace when you do pick them up.

Happy capturing.
