Analog Therapy: Rollei 35AF – CatLABS X FILM 320 Pro B&W.
The new arrival pixie dust has started to clear with the Rollei 35AF, but I will keep it brief here since I put up a formal review post. My thoughts all pretty much align with the “So…” post I wrote a while back.
The film this go around is a favorite of mine since it was released, CatLABS X FILM 320 Pro B&W. Very sharp clean and contrasty. After a bit of experimentation I found it works well at ISO 100 when developing it with Cinestill df96. Shot at 320 and developed with df96 makes for an underexposed image. But at ISO 100 it does well with 35mm cameras, does really well with medium format cameras,…
…and even resolves plenty of detail using half frame cameras.
Occasion. Nothing of note. Killing a roll of film in a local small “downtown” area. Here are the surviving pics.
Thoughts on the film.
I like it. It stays in constant rotation. Also helps that it is very affordable.
Happy capturing.
