Analog Therapy/Expired Film: Konica Hexar RF – 7Artisans 75mm f/1.25 – 2019 Kodak T-Max 100.

I had no plans on buying film the last time I entered my local camera shop… but they had marked down expired film.

How could I pass that up?

  • It could be a smashing bargain success.
  • It could be a crushing disappointment.

Once again. A perk of developing my own film. Worst case I am out the cost of the film and my time. Sounds fair to me.

But I have ground rules with expired film. Similar to other films like Phoenix 200 and very low ISO films where one can not expect “normal” results. Ok. One rule.

Do not use it for photographs that I actually want.

Ok. Moving on.

The camera? A favorite.

Konica Hexar RF

The lens is great.

70-ishmm

The results? Meh.

Not bad. But I am glad I set my expectations low. Typical expired film stuff. Here are the ones I kept.

Burned the roll grabbing brunch and running errands with my daughter and in nearby Durham. As usual developed at home with Cinestill df96 (x2 on time per instructions.).

Thoughts.

A great day. I love hanging out with my kids… The film? It was fine also.

Another successful analog therapy session.
