About last night.
Thank you to all who came out to the exhibit, thank you who wanted to but could not make it, and to all who shared a kind word of encouragement a like, a heart, or whatever it may have been. To @prestonwilesphotography for reaching out to me and Eric (Not third person. Another Eric.) who welcomed me into his venue @continental_clubgso . To the gentleman on the right in the first photo that dropped the F bomb as emphasis when sharing his appreciation for the work. I felt that. To 100 Men In Black Male Chorus Director Marlon West and fellow members Lleon and Stuart for showing up. My brothers. It was great, and I take none of it for granted.
My pitch for this exhibition:
The goal is so Black men can be seen in quiet moments of dignity, camaraderie, and laughter in
a world that often seems intent on portraying them in the worst possible light. Not only for Black
men to view themselves positively but so that others can witness these unguarded moments
and perhaps see something they can relate to regardless of their background.
Here are photos from the evening, including other artists and other artists’ work that was on display.
At the conclusion of the event taking photos on the way out.
What a great evening.
Happy capturing.
