Scenes Seen: Various Digital Implements.
There are tiers to this gear thing for me. My favorite gear is film. Any kind of film gear. Behind that is a rangefinder…
Make it a film rangefinder and now you are talking.
Medium format has become less of a big deal for me over time. Not that there is anything wrong with medium format. Perfect for when you are looking for top notch image quality, detail, and subject isolation. It is just that, for film and digital, 35mm gets me mostly there.
But I still like medium format film. Foveon cameras are odd enough in that they also hold a high position. That last pic above. That is the category of image capturing device that I find the least interesting. Regular old Bayer sensor AF digital.
That also happens to be the category of gear this post is about. For that reason I will not bother to name check the gear used here. If you are interested all you need to do is click through to Flickr. Above the EXIF data available I categorize my uploads with the camera and lens using albums.
I have nothing against any of the gear. It is my “I just want the pic.” gear. Perfect for scenes seen. And here are the most recent examples.
This is all related to a recent post where I offer up the opinion that the gear is not the main thing. Modern gear anyway. The short version is that acquiring new gear used to inspire me to get out and take photos. Now that I am done with the constant gear churn I have just made up my mind to get out and take pictures. Anyhoo.
Well, that wraps up this scenes seen fit.
Happy capturing.
