As mentioned in my last post after an extended visit with a friend my 5D is back home.
Brought it out once again after my son inquired about a galavanting run. The EOS 5D was an easy choice. This is exactly why I picked it up in the first place. A low-risk but capable daily carry solution. It was raining on and off and while likely very tolerant of such conditions both camera and lens are plentiful and inexpensive to replace online should something go sideways. While on the move we settled on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. Normally we would not come near this area as it would be full of folks but given the time of year, after graduation and before summer school, and the rain there should be fewer people milling about. And we were right. We had also settled on the area because we wanted ice cream but realized it was too late to visit a new future haunt we recently found before it closed. To Ben & Jerry’s.
Then we passed a Pizza spot that was closed when we first passed by as it was reopening for the evening and prepping gigantic pizzas for slices.
My first thought was that the NYC native Mrs. would appreciate a pie. And she did. Nice guy, my son and I got to ramble and joke some more, I took some more pics, and we got pizza. Winning all around.
With a pie and two beverages in hand, we took our leave. Here are some other scenes we stumbled across.
Closing thoughts.
I really like this camera and lens.
I do not take the time spent with my children for granted.
Happy capturing.
