Had a busy weekend last weekend. A good busy. Doing things that I enjoy. Unlike my day to day things, these are things I love to do. Photography and singing. To be specific photography, singing, and then more photography.
This final post of three is about a photography session on the Sunday after a busy Saturday outlined in the first two posts in this series. A birthday photo session. Had previously been tasked by Delores to do a church outreach event session.
Delores requested a birthday photo session and I was happy to oblige. Will not share many here, but here is a sample image from the day.
At the close I even met a family and potential future customers.

The body and lens performed well, but once again most any combination of camera and lens could have been used. Once again the real star of the show was the Godox AD300. Why? Will simply restate my reasons from post 1 of 3 in this series.
- It provides enough light, even for this sunny midday photo session.
- This was confirmed the first time I used it outside when little ones in a family session did not give me time to set up my bootleg AD400. Used it with a 59″ Phottix Raja softbox.
- It takes up no more space in my bag than a Godox V1.
- It takes the same batteries as an AD200.
- The snap on softbox is compact and does away with needing an s-bracket and a larger softbox.
- Bare bulb is standard doing away with a need to attach a barebulb like I have to do with the AD200.
- Even has a modeling light standard.
- Like all other Godox lights it is brand agnostic, like me, so when a photographer using a Nikon trigger asked to join us briefly she had no issue using it also.
Once again… In short, it is my favorite light.
On Saturday, the day before, I had carried a dedicated lighting bag that held my bootleg AD400. A second bag outlined in a recent bag review post. But after using only my AD300 that day I replaced a V1 in my main bag with the AD300. So everything I need in one bag. Cool.
Conclusion
Another great day to cap off a great weekend.
Happy capturing.
