Full disclosure:
This new post topic, Vintage Digital Picks, is nothing more than an attempt at a self intervention of sorts.
I spend far too much time trolling online used camera gear stores. Anything can trip off these searches. Most recently I had sentimental thoughts about micro four thirds. This then led me to search KEH.com to see what the least expensive MFT camera with an EVF would be. The result:

Certainly not the only choice. There are plenty of serviceable options in this category. This was just the least expensive example that I would consider using. Next up in this virtual shopping trip was a lens. That was easy. A favorite would be my choice. The Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH.
A great little inexpensive lens that is regularly available for little more on sale new compared to used. It is light, reasonably robust, and capable of great results.
That is it. So far writing this post has sufficiently distracted me so no purchase will be made. After all, I already had a pandemic time distraction MFT bender (One contribution.). So with a bit of time a cooler head prevailed. No need to tread down that path once again.
Also thought I would share this in case there was someone out there considering a digital camera purchase but was put off by the high cost of entry. In that case the next lens I would recommend would be the long in name and dirt cheap Olympus OMD E-M1/Zuiko 40-150mm f/4-5.6 R.
This lens has created some of my all time favorite images, some of which scored work photo contest wins and were framed in our offices for years.
A lens that punches far above its price class.
Ok. I have sufficiently distracted myself. For now I can mark my safe from yet another GAS episode.
Happy capturing.
