Not long ago I wrote a post about using photography to cope, get out of the house, and get out of the car. Once again my son wanted in.
To which I said gladly once again. I set him up with his favorite SLR that does quite a capable impression of a point and shoot. The affordable and capable Pentax *ist.
Paired it with a great lens.
A pairing far better than it has any business being. Since we were going out on quite a sunny and pleasant evening I paired it with Fujifilm 200 and as usual, I developed it for him at home with Cinestill CS41.

Also edited them for him. A light touch was all that was needed. The occasional tilt and such. As usual the Pentax *ist nailed focus and exposure. I am biased admittedly, but the young man has an eye. On such a bright day I recommended he go with full auto, instead of my Av usual go to, so he would not have to concern himself with exposure settings. Gave him one or two tips on framing and we were off. He finished the first part of the roll as we toured the newly opened Freedom Park in Raleigh, NC before he turned it over to me to finish it. Here are those final few captures as the evening drew to a close.
Final thought. Easy. Great to share photography with others. Makes it especially gratifying when it is your own child.
