Snapshot Overkill and Some Portraits: Sony A7RV + FE 50mm f/1.2 GM

Blog title covers it but in short, this is what I describe as a “sledgehammer to drive in a thumbtack” scenario. For these shots, I could have used the simplest of camera solutions. Any number of point-and-shoot or lower-tier cameras would have done the job. Using a top-end solution for such is ludicrous…

I like ludicrous.

Paired the Sony A7RV with the FE 50mm f/1.2 GM. But I did have a bit of justification. A bit. Was meeting with some interns. I was the mentor assigned for two of them. As I did with orientation at the start I brought my camera along for pictures and portraits. That last time I brought a digital daily carry set up. Which did well, but this day I decided to bring out the big guns.
