This pairing has not displaced my film usage, but it has increased my digital usage.
It lands in a nice little sweet spot. It offers up image quality that I normally associate with film or non-traditional digital solutions like SIGMA Foveon while adding blistering modern camera performance. That it feels good in hand and is fairly easy on the eyes does not hurt either.
Yesterday something interesting happened. I did not realize it was raining out. I went outside with a film favorite of mine and stopped in my tracks. Where I normally would have likely tucked it in my shirt and kept it moving without hesitation I put it away and ran with the Sony pairing. Both are listed as dust and moisture resistant which is quite convenient. I have had compact, everyday AF FE lenses. I have had Zeiss lenses (adapted). I have had dust and moisture-resistant lenses. You may see where this is going. What I have not had before is a compact, everyday AF FE Zeiss lens that is dust and moisture resistant. Anyhoo.
On to the images. Mostly taken while killing time in a massive antique store waiting for one kid and then hanging out with another.
Result? A great way to document a great day.
